Curriculum

LISF follows the American common core curriculum

At Liwa International School – Falaj Hazza, we offer the Liwa Education curriculum that is aligned to the California Common Core State Standards, along with the MOE regulations and expectations set by ADEK. Our Liwa Education Curriculum with its core and subject competencies, is designed to be an engaging and overarching framework that utilizes a plethora of cross-curricular links to deepen learning and promote excellence, enjoyment, innovation, and critical thinking.

Each grade team ensures that the standards are taught within the grade and that the full breadth and balance are explored. In elementary school, strong emphasis is placed on reading and language immersion, with a clear plan to address the issues of our students who have English as a second language.

Our senior and middle leaders, as well as teachers, work hand in hand with Liwa Education Curriculum Director and Liwa Education Subject Leads to ensure instrumental application of the curriculum to facilitate our strategic developments in line with the needs of the pupils and the school, as well as ensuring that the progression from KG through to grade 12 is closely monitored and that all children are well prepared for the next stage in their education at each transition point.

We offer workshops throughout the year for parents to involve and inform them in regard to our curriculum and the way their children learn and work in the school.

Community Service Team

The LISF Community Service Team is dedicated to fostering an appreciation for compassion, commitment, and empathy among our stakeholders, particularly in relation to our less privileged community members.

Embracing Community Service is an integral component of school life. From our community service activities, we not only seek to support the less privileged societal categories, but we also endeavor to cultivate a spirit of community service within our students. We encourage them to collaborate, ideate innovatively, and contribute to the sustainability of the communities we serve.

The evolution of Community Service at LISF has been marked by significant milestones, with our institution assuming a pioneering role in 2013 through the UAE Red Crescent Aoun Community Service Project. For eleven consecutive years, we have actively participated in the Aoun Award.

This team collaborates closely with the LISF Student Crescent to meticulously plan and execute community service activities and events.

LISF has been receiving first place every year at Al Ain level. At the UAE level, we achieved the first place 4 times, the second place twice, and the third place also twice.

This recognition is instrumental in bridging our school and the local community through impactful community service endeavors. Moreover, it plays a pivotal role in honing our students’ abilities in innovation, communication, research, and public speaking, while imparting the profound essence of volunteerism and solidarity.
