“Leveraging new technology to transform our learning…”

Liwa International School Falaj Hazza’s (LISF) vision is to create a modern learning environment that supports 21st century learning by integrating IT and encouraging a more open and flexible approach to teaching and learning.

We recognize that in today’s interconnected and technology-driven world, the learning environment can be virtual, online, remote as well as the physical place of learning such as a classroom or library. Through the application of technology, we aim to make access to learning anytime and anywhere possible.

The LIS 1:1 Device Initiative

As set out in our E-Learning plan, implementation of the LISF 1:1 Initiative will see access to digital devices made available to each student at Liwa International School Falaj Hazza.

1:1 access means that each student will be issued with a digital device to support their learning allowing all students anywhere, anytime access that extends learning beyond the classroom.

Provision of this along with content libraries will extend their learning environment beyond the physical, limited to a time and space.

Learning will now take place anytime and anywhere.

Students in grades 1 and 2 will be issued with an iPad for use in the classroom. The school will increase its provision from 120 to 300 (September 2018). This will enable the provision of the required number of devices for each class. Deployment and full implementation will be completed September 2018.

All students from grades 3 to 12 will be issued with a Chromebook for their use anywhere. This is in alignment with our vision of becoming one of the Google Reference School in the region along with the use of the Google Platform for Education as our main platform. The deployment and full implementation will be completed September 2018.

Google Apps for Education provide an online platform that allows students to collaborate on school projects, communicate with their teachers and one another, and continue learning regardless of their location. Google Apps for Education are provided without advertisements and include the following online services for students:

Google Classroom

Google Drive

Google Apps [Docs, Sheets, Sites, Forms]

Google Calendar

Gmail

Your child’s Google account will be set and managed by the school using the Chrome Management License. This will provided additional security that will ensure that any personal information will remain secure. Students will not be able to communicate with anyone outside of the School’s domain.
