Liwa International School (LIS) was established twenty-five years ago in the garden city of Al Ain, approximately 1 hour 20 minutes’ drive from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. LIS is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school with over 2,500 students. The school enjoys a strong reputation across the emirate of Abu Dhabi for academic success, high standards of professionalism, teacher loyalty and an oversubscribed student population. In the recent 2017 external inspection, LIS was rated ‘good’ overall (with a rating of ‘very good’ in 3 out of the 6 categories.)

- Grade Leaders with experience in pastoral care
Essential Requirements
- A Bachelor of Education
- An appropriate subject Bachelor’s degree with PGCE (or equivalent)
- At least two years full time class or subject teaching experience
- Experience working with EAL / ESL learners
- Confident use of Assessment for Learning techniques to support students’ learning
- Excellent knowledge of ICT in the classroom
- Positive communication skills and a team player
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in the classroom
Curriculum
Although LIS delivers the American Curriculum (Common Core – California State Standards), experience of this curriculum is not essential and applicants who have experience of other standards based international curricula are also encouraged to apply.
